Member of the Iraqi parliament
He joined the parliament as a representative of the Iraqi Accord in 2005. Before his political career, he was as a researcher and professor of Political Science and International Law at the University of Baghdad and the Chairman of the Department of Asian Studies at its Center for International Studies. In 2008, he became the Secretary General of the National Future Gathering, a part of the Iraqi National List whose electoral he had led. He participated in the 2014 elections as a deputy and official spokesman of the United Coalition for Reform.
