This year, Al Jazeera Forum will launch a number of new activities including its first research contest for youth under the age of 35 from all over the world.
The forum's Higher Organising Committee has announced that the deadline for submitting documents to participate in the contest, in both Arabic and English, is Friday, 10 April 2015.
Terms of the contest include, the preparation of an unpublished and original research paper with circa 2500 to 3000 words on the topic of “Change in the Arab World: Approaches and Possibilities” along with an summary that does not exceed 300 words.
The committee requires that the research paper, the completed personal information form found on Al Jazeera Centre for Studies' website (http://goo.gl/j88pdT), and a copy of the author's passport be sent to youthplatform@aljazeera.net in word document format. .
The committee has also mentioned that all papers will be subject to the review of an external panel from outside of Al Jazeera Media Network before the results are announced between 25 and 30 April 2015. The panel will release a short list of the five best research papers, and their authors will be invited as special guests to the 9th Al Jazeera Forum.
The 9th Al Jazeera Forum, scheduled to take place in Doha between 4 and 6 May 2015 under the title “Conflict and Change in the Arab world”, will present an opportunity to highlight Al Jazeera Network’s role in media and politics and display its contributions as a pioneering media organisation in today’s world. It will host leading politicians, intellectuals, media personalities and activists from around the world. The sessions are co-orientated and organised by Al Jazeera Centre for Studies. This year, the centre partnered with other components of the network to diversify the forum’s focus and expand the circle of participants linked to Arab media.
