Director of Brookings Institute in Doha
Salman Shaikh is director of the Brookings Doha Center and fellow at the Center for Middle East Policy. His research focuses on negotiations related to conflict resolution, domestic politics and geopolitics of the Middle East, with a particular focus on the Levant and Gulf region. Recently, Mr. Shaikh has worked extensively at facilitating approaches to a national dialogue among key Syrian communities and figures, as well as to advise policy on regional and international involvement in the Syrian crisis.
