Aljazeera Media Training and Development Center takes part in the 8th Al Jazeera Forum held in May 26-28.

The center is organizing a symposia titled “Media Training and the Communal Change”, in Abalon hall of Doha St. Regis Hotel. In addition, a special workshop titled “Technical Innovations Effect on News Gathering Practice” will be offered and introduced by Glen Killane, an expert on technical innovation from the Irish News Network RTE.

The workshop will introduce and preview the latest technology devices would greatly affect and may alter the process and the practice of news gathering.

Glen will provide a hands-on workshop on these devices and the available applications that can be used to implement a complete line of news gathering starting off with taking pictures, editing, montage, writing reports, and sending the entire report to the newsroom. The participants will have to bring their own IPhone or IPad to be able to have practical exercises and learn about the capacities of these devices in producing all types of journalistic works. Registration is required by the participants via the training center website .

A number of symposia and seminars will be held as well on the media training and the communal changes. A large number of international media and training public figures and celebrities will speak, share their experiences and exchange their ideas and thoughts in these symposia. Such profound discussions produce effective solutions and development for training strategies and methods.

This is the second time for the training center to participate in the forum after last year’s symposium titled “Media Training in a Transforming World”. A number of Arab information ministers and director generals of TV networks, in addition to well-known professional trainers have attended and participated in that symposium.
