President of the Iraqi Group for Strategic Studies
Dr Wathaq Al Hashmi is an expert at the Al-Nahrain Centre for Strategic Studies in Iraq. He was a member of the committee of experts of think tanks of member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. Dr Al Hashmi is a political analyst who frequently appears on Iraqi, Arab and international news outlets, and sits on the advisory bodies of a number of scientific Iraqi and Arab magazines. He holds an international commissioner certificate, and was a member of the Iraqi Centre for Negotiation and Conflict Management. He participated in many conferences in Iraq, the Arab world and globally, and has many research and study papers to his name in Iraqi and Arab magazines.
