The 9th session of Al Jazeera Forum will launch a number of new activities including the first research contest for youth under the age of thirty five from the Arab world and beyond.

The Higher Organizing Committee of the Forum has announced that the deadline of receiving the documents for participating in the contest, in both Arabic and English, is the end of business day, Tuesday 10 April 2015.

Terms of the contest include, the preparation of an unpublished and original research paper with circa 2500 to 3000 words on the topic of “Change in the Arab World: Approaches and Possibilities” along with an summary that does not exceed 300 words.

The Committee has specified that the research paper along with the completed personal information form found on the website of Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (http://goo.gl/j88pdT(link is external)) should be sent to the email address of the contest: youthplatform@aljazeera.net(link sends e-mail)(link sends e-mail)in word document format. Papers sent in any other way will not be accepted, nor will they be accepted if they aren’t sent with an attached copy of the author’s passport.

The Committee has also clarified that all papers will be subject to the review of a panel external to Al Jazeera Media Network before the results being announced between 25 and 30 of April 2015. The panel will submit a short list of the five best research papers, and their authors will be invited as special guests on the 9th Al Jazeera Forum.

The next session of the Al Jazeera Forum, scheduled to take place in Doha between 4 and 6 May 2015 under the title “Conflict and Change in the Arab world”, will present an opportunity to highlight the Network’s role in Media and Politics, and display its contributions as a pioneering media organisation in today’s world.  It will have a broad participation of leading politicians, intellectuals, media personalities and activists from around the world. Al Jazeera Forum sessions are co-orientated and organised by Al Jazeera Centre for Studies. This year it partnered with other components of the Network in order to diversify the Forum’s focus and expand the circle of participants who are linked to the Arab media.
