Deputy Director of the Iraqi Center for Research and Strategic Studies in Amman

He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Baghdad in 1989, his master’s degree in politics and government from the same institution in 1995, and his PhD in international relations from Al-Nahrain University in 2000. In addition, Hussein served as a visiting professor at Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College between 2014 and 2015, and a research fellow at the British Institute from 2010 to 2011. He acted as the head of the International Affairs Department at the Iraqi Centre for Research and Strategic Studies from 2007 to 2009 and the head of Political Science Department in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce in Libya from 2003 to 2006. Hussein has written many research papers and publications on both Iraqi and international affairs, and provides political analysis on many Arab and Iraqi television programmes.
