Chairman of the National Rally for Reform and Development in Mauritania (Tawassoul)
He was a member of the Mauritanian parliament and a candidate in the presidential elections of 2009. Ould Mansour holds a bachelor’s degree in Islamic shari'a from the Advanced Institute for Islamic Studies and Research and a master’s degree from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University. He started his political activism early on in as a university student, which led to his imprisonment. In 2004, he returned from exile and became one of the leading opposition figures.
