He has authored a number of books including Political Thought in Morocco and Andalusia in the 5th Hijri Century, Islam and Modernity, Interpretation in Islamic Reformist Thought, The Dilemma of Religious Functions in the Modern State, The Possibility of an Islamic Renaissance and The Notion of an Islamic State. In 2016, he won the Moroccan Book Prize for his book, The Emergence and Development of Political Islamic Thought.
