Assistant professor of methodology and ethics at Hamad Bin Khalifa University
He was a producer of Al Jazeera’s programme, Ash-Shariah wal-Hayat, and editor-in-chief of Islamic and current affairs at IslamOnline. He joined a number of research institutions in Berlin as a visiting fellow. Alkhatib also worked as a visiting lecturer at the Islamic University of Beirut and Qatar University, and has given lectures in many institutions including the University of California-Berkeley, Princeton University, and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He has written and edited several books and academic articles on hadith critique, Islamic interpretation methods and Islamic intellectual history.
